Not able to afford an additional $2500 investment in remote music server hi-fi equipment I had to make due with music server components I already owned: Airport Express, Mac Mini, Onkyo TX-DS989 AV Receiver and a Rogue Audio Magnum 99 Preamp. With some additional software on my Mac Mini I could remote control the music served to the remote system in my listening room with my Sony PSP.

I bought the Airport Express to serve music to my listening room. I tried this once just to make sure it worked (it did). I never used Airtunes since because of the inconvenience and inability control the song playing. The Airport Express instead served the purpose of wireless extender for my Xbox.

Now that I created on my Mac Mini to my entire iTunes library to my listening room via AirTunes Sony PSP with remote control, had to give me my ReWire hi-fi. The goal: AirTunes digital signal on the best way for the DAC and the analog signal passing clean through the speakers. I have no budget, so I only components I already have.

I also wanted to test what I can feed the nasties compressed audio to analog for the fightReich. My weapons: Taddeo Digital Antidote II and Rogue Audio Magnum 99 Preamp. One of these components has won the battle and the other almost the whole war is lost.

Now, when I set up my Mac Mini to deliver my entire iTunes library to my listening room via AirTunes with Sony PSP remote control, I had my HI-Fi program components again. The goal: deliver the digital signal via AirTunes to the best DAC in the path and passing the analog signal clean up my speakers. I have no budget, so I must only use components I already own.

I also wanted to test how much I compressed the audio feed was nasties in the analog to combatEmpire. My weapons: Taddeo Digital Antidote II and Rogue Audio Magnum 99 Preamp. One of these components, the battle won and the other lost almost the entire war.
